P.T. Celebrates 'Read Across America' with Weeklong Festivities

From March 3-7, Penn-Trafford elementary schools participated in Read Across America, a nationwide initiative designed to foster a love of reading in students.

As part of the celebration, a group of high school volunteers visited elementary schools across the district, sharing some of their favorite books with students in grades K-5. Their enthusiasm and storytelling helped inspire the younger students to develop a lifelong appreciation for reading.

Throughout the week, schools hosted themed dress-up days, adding excitement to the festivities. Students enjoyed Green Eggs and Ham Day, Pajama Day, Crazy Socks Day, and Dress Like a Book Character Day, bringing stories to life in a fun and interactive way.

The engaging activities made Read Across America a memorable experience, reinforcing the joy and importance of reading for students of all ages.
