Catching Apples

To kick off the start of fall, Mrs. Doyle’s first-grade class at Trafford Elementary completed a Mystery Science lesson titled “What’s the Biggest Apple in the World?“  While learning about apples, they were surprised to find out that there are more than 4,000 kinds of apples and that the largest apple is the Hakuto which weighs over four pounds.

After the lesson, the students were tasked with creating an “apple trapper” using construction paper, tape, and scissors.  They put their contraptions to the test to see whose could pick up the most paper apples.
