Mrs. Jodi Weismann, a second-grade teacher at Trafford Elementary School, has completed her classroom library of "Ordinary People Change the World" books, thanks to funding from the DonorsChoose crowdfunding platform.
The books are biographies of famous people such as Leonardo da Vinci, Walt Disney, Billie Jean King, and more. They are written from the subject’s point of view and are presented on a young learner's level. “One thing I notice every year is how much my students love to come together on our carpet and listen to me read interesting books,” commented Mrs. Weismann. “I use this series as part of social studies lessons to teach about famous Americans and other world leaders.”
