Local Author Visits Trafford Elementary School

Trafford Elementary School students received a visit from author Dede Rittman in late April.  Mrs. Rittman wrote a children's book titled Grady Gets Glasses, a story about a bunny who gets glasses.

Mrs. Rittman presented a program called ‘Bunnies Don't Bully, and Neither Should Kids’ to the school’s kindergartners and first-graders.  Then she met with the second-graders for her ‘Be an Author’ program.  Six second-graders - winners of an essay contest - were selected to have lunch with the author and they also received a Grady Gets Glasses coloring book.  In addition, every kindergartener received a personalized author signed book (courtesy of Jennifer Schmidt, the cousin of the school’s library aide Jenny Winter who made this visit possible).
