The students of Trafford Elementary School participate in a year-long ‘Accelerated Reading’ program during their library classes. After receiving their reading goals, the students began accumulating points for each book they read. To reward the students who met their goals, Library Aide Mrs. Jenny Winter organized a “Cookies and Canvases” event which took place in March.
3rd, 4th, and 5th graders who met their reading goals received an afternoon of refreshments and painting. Each student selected one of three painting designs, and librarian Mrs. Chesky provided instruction on the artwork. Mrs. Winter commented, “The kids had an awesome time and all the artwork turned out great!”
