Miss Laura Kerestes, a learning support teacher in the Penn-Trafford School District, was able to add beanbags and weighted lap blankets to her two classrooms (one at Sunrise Estates and the other at Trafford Elementary School). Funding for the new materials was made possible by DonorsChoose, a classroom funding site for teachers.
Miss Kerestes plans to use the items in a variety of ways: as a space for students to calm down, as a break area, for flexible seating, and as a positive reward space.
